County Manager Paul Van Haute announced his retirement to the Putnam County Board of Commissioners and staff effective May 31, 2026.
His career as County Manager began in 2010, and he has served diligently for 16 years.
The Middle Georgia Regional Commission will conduct the search for the next County Manager. Current plans include hiring an Interim County Manager as soon as possible.

Appointments to all boards, authorities, and commissions shall be conducted in accordance with the procedures contained in Section 2-53 of the Putnam County Code of Ordinances.
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will be replacing the existing bridge (Structure ID 237-0014-0) at County Road (CR) 294/Godfrey Road at Glady Creek in Putnam County, located approximately 3.5 miles northwest of the City of Eatonton.
