Part-Time Custodian/Janitor
Putnam County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants for the part-time position of Custodian/Janitor within the Public Buildings department. The successful candidate must possess the ability to read and write; skill in performing general building and grounds maintenance; knowledge of using and maintaining assigned power equipment and hand tools such as buffers, extractors, high pressure washers, vacuums, brooms, and mops for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture. Successful candidates should also have the ability to follow instructions and have sufficient experience to understand basic principles relevant to major duties of the position.
Job duties include but are not limited to cleaning and sanitizing public
restrooms using established practices and procedures; dusting and wiping furniture; sweeping, mopping, and/or vacuuming floors; buffing and applying floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, empty/cleaning wastebaskets, and trash containers; replacing light bulbs; refilling restroom dispensers; assisting with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and special events.
This is a part-time position and compensation will be based on the current county pay scale.
