Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance

• Newly hired full-time employees are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following 30 days of full-time service.
• Enrollment Benefits Guide provides complete detail of insurance benefits offered by Putnam County Board of Commissioners.
• Other voluntary benefits also available (AFLAC, Texas Life Insurance, etc.).

Retirement Benefits 

• 401(a) Defined Contribution Vesting after 5 years of full-time employment, for employees hired prior 2012.
• 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan Vesting after 5 years of full-time employment.

Basic Life Insurance 

• The County pays 100% for life insurance in the amount of $30,000. Employees have the option to purchase additional coverage for themselves and dependents.
• The County pays 100% for Long -Term Disability
