(Putnam County, Ga., June 29, 2016) – Putnam County firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in the 200 block of Jackson Rd. just before 7:00am after a passer-by called 911 to report smoke coming from a home and the windows appeared sooty. Firefighters found a multi story dwelling on fire when they arrived. Fire crews were successful in containing and extinguishing the fire however smoke and heat damage are extensive throughout the home with moderate structural damage to the floor/ceiling area between the first floor and the basement.

No occupant or PCFR Staff injuries reported as a result of the fire.

PCFR had 4 apparatus & 9 personnel respond. Mutual Aid was received from Putnam EMS, PCSO and GA Fire Marshal’s Office.

The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation. Weather appears to have been a factor at this time.
