Residents who live inside the city limits of Eatonton may contact City Hall at (706) 485-3311 for more information on curbside pickup. All residents may utilize one of the convenience centers located throughout Putnam County for recycling/solid waste disposal. Click below for center hours.

Auto Tags

Georgia automobile tags must be purchased within 30 days after establishing residency. Automobile tags are issued by the Putnam County Tax Commissioner’s Office at the Putnam County Courthouse located at 100 South Jefferson Avenue, Suite 207, Eatonton, Georgia 31024. If your automobile tag is still valid, there is a $20 charge for the tag and an $18 charge for the title. For more information, call (706) 485-5441 or visit the Tax Commissioners website.

Annual ad valorem taxes, normally paid on your birthday, will be phased out for most vehicles in Georgia beginning March 1, 2013.  For more information and the new tax calculator, visit the Georgia Department of Revenue website.

Putnam County’s Adopt-A-Roadway Program signs up citizen volunteers to help remove litter from county roads. This not only saves taxpayer dollars, but also provides recognition for participating companies and organizations, increases the public awareness of environmental and monetary costs of littering, and promotes civic responsibility and pride.
