The Putnam County Board of Commissioners is seeking interested Putnam County residents to fill a vacancy on the Oconee River Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council Board.  RC&D councils help plan and carry out activities that increase conservation of natural resources, support economic development and enhance the environment and standard of living in local communities.  Persons eligible to serve on the Oconee River RC&D Council Board must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid high school diploma or its equivalent.  The successful candidate must be knowledgeable regarding the county’s interests and have a willingness to serve, attend scheduled meetings, participate on committees, and provide input for activities of the council.  Meetings are typically held once per quarter in Watkinsville and usually last about two hours.
