As you know, the Oconee River watershed has received significant rainfall. Lake Oconee is at full pool and Lake Sinclair is above full pool.
Water is being passed through the generating units at both Wallace and Sinclair dams, and we have been opening spillway gates at Sinclair Dam throughout the morning to pass the excess water. At present there are seven spillway gates open at Sinclair Dam and Generation has observed the Lake Sinclair level has started to drop.
The weather services are predicting more significant rainfall over the next several days. As a precautionary measure, shoreline customers are encouraged to check their docks or boathouses and secure or remove loose items.
