GREENSBORO- Tomorrow the Georgia Department of Transportation will close a short northbound section of State Route (SR) 44/Lake Oconee Parkway for deep patching maintenance. The traveling public should expect a lane closure and traffic control approaching the entrance to The Landing at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro.

Expect the District Asphalt crew’s Thursday work to last from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., weather permitting. Workers will mill out the identified spot and patch back for a smoother ride.

Vehicles on SR 44 heading toward Greensboro will temporarily shift to the middle turn lane during this period. Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; read signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected.

Citizens should monitor 511ga.org or download the App to stay current on all upcoming lane closures. Georgia DOT East on Facebook and @GDOTEastTraffic on Twitter also provide daily updates.
