PUTNAM COUNTY - GENERAL INFORMATION

  IMPORTANT ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION:

1. Martin Mill Road (between Burgess Road and Martin Mill Drive) will be closed indefinitely.  Burgess Road (between Martin Mill Road and Godfrey Road) will also be closed.

The Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.* in the West Courtroom** of the Putnam County Courthouse, 100 South Jefferson Avenue, Eatonton, Georgia to hear the following:

Putnam County is applying to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for a Community Development Block Grant of up to $500,000.00.  These funds are being requested for community facility improvements and must be used to primarily benefit low- and moderate-income persons.  The purpose of this hearing will be to inform citizens regarding the development of the application and to solicit public input regarding the proposed project.

Persons with special needs relating to handicapped accessibility shall contact the County Manager five business days in advance of the meeting at 108 South Madison Avenue, Suite 300, Eatonton, Georgia 31024, (706) 485-5826, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Persons with hearing disabilities can contact us through the Georgia Relay Service at (TDD) 1-800-255-0056 or (Voice) 1-800-255-0135.

The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to continue the hearing to another time and place in the event the number of people in attendance at the hearing, including the Board of Commissioners, staff, and members of the public exceeds the legal limits.  Hearings will be conducted pursuant to O.C.G.A. 50-14-1 and Section 2-42 of the Putnam County Code of Ordinances.
