NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

Millage Rate

The Putnam County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 7.17 percent. 

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the County Administration Building, 117 Putnam Drive, Eatonton, GA on September 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.  

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the County Administration Building, 117 Putnam Drive, Eatonton, GA on August 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. and August 15, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 6.400 mills, an increase of .941 mills.  Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 5.972 mills.  The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $47.08 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $225,000 is approximately $38.52.
