Our Mission

The mission of Putnam County Fire Rescue is to protect all citizens from injury and loss by any direct or indirect threats to life and property by providing fire suppression, rescue operations, fire prevention education and emergency medical first-responder services.  Putnam County Fire Rescue is committed to partnering with the community, serving as role-models, and utilizing its resources effectively and efficiently to provide exemplary service to the residents, businesses and visitors of Putnam County.

This is a call to action for the USFA, fire and life safety partner organizations and the American public. We must join together to help reduce the number of home fires, and the resulting deaths, injuries and loss of property. We rely on the fire service to fight fires once they occur; however, the prevention of fires is up to all of us… Fire Is Everyone’s Fight™.

Putnam County Fire Rescue Reminds Putnam Residents: Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives!

1-Install smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area and on every level of the home, including the basement.
2-Interconnect all smoke alarms throughout the home. This way, when one sounds, they all do.
3-Test alarms at least monthly by pushing the test button.
4-Replace all smoke alarms when they are 10 years old or sooner if they don’t respond properly.
5-Make sure everyone in the home knows the sound of the smoke alarm and understands what to do when they hear it.
