At the June 2, 2017 BOC meeting, EMS Director Nathan Mason and Fire Chief Shane Hill presented Life Saving Awards to members of their staff: Paramedics Everette Bowen and T. M. Patterson and Firefighters Brent Burrell and Tommy McElhannon. The plaques read “For your actions that saved the life of another.” These were given in recognition of the work done to save the life of Eatonton Police Officer Pat Welch. Director Mason explained that thanks to the dedicated work of all involved, the 5 links in the “Chain of Survival” were not broken, which made the difference in the life of Officer Welch. Thank you, thank you to these dedicated employees and great to see Pat up and around!!
