The Putnam County Board of Commissioners is seeking an interested Putnam County resident to fill a vacancy on the Middle Georgia Rural Human Services Transportation Advisory Committee.

The Middle Georgia Regional Commission (MGRC) was awarded funding assistance to establish and implement a regional Mobility Manager program.  The MGRC Mobility Manager will serve the general public through conceptualizing, planning, developing, and operating programs that respond to and influence the demands of the Rural Human Services Transportation (RHST) market.  To improve current levels of coordination, increase cost-effectiveness, while maintaining or improving existing levels of service, a Regional RHST Advisory Committee was officially created by the MGRC Council.  The RHST Advisory Committee will be comprised of key stakeholders who will help identify transportation needs and practical solutions for the future coordination of essential public transit services throughout the region.

The successful candidate should have some understanding of existing RHST needs and an interest in helping to identify workable strategies to address those needs.

Interested persons should submit an application to the Putnam County Board of Commissioners, 117 Putnam Drive, Suite A, Eatonton, Georgia 31024. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.  The board application form can be found on the county website at (in the “How Do I…” or “Forms & Documents” sections) or by calling 706-485-5826.
